pink_cotton_candy Affichés Mon Feb 27, 2012 9:57PM	Welcome to The Steel Cage Battle for Trillium Charter School, Portland, Oregon, Graduating Class of 2012 I offered to print my son's graduating class (he's graduating, YAY!) invitations. As a democratically-based charter school kind of out of the ordinary, their top request for design was a combination of: Ayn Rand art decco graffiti armagedon (interestingly, they had runners-up that were just as weird.) When I saw that list, well...I stared at it for a while...well it was for a whole weekend! I wasn't expecting to design something like this It's totally not my usual style. Thankfully, I saw Kelly's plea for a battle and I thought: what better way to practice in this style that I am completely unfamiliar?!?! We started discussing and he was open to allowing us to use the imagery from our battle for these invites. So...above is our theme. The students will end up picking one (maybe more) for their graduation announcement artwork. We'll be working a little higher than usual: 1200x900 so I have room for printing and we'll provide a link to a higher res file. In order to keep the design clean, we will not include any text of Graduation Class, etc., in our works. I have no idea what I'm doing. I'm looking forward to this game and learning this style. I'm asking the kids at Trillium (class of 25 - the largest graduation class ever!) to provide any feedback (not in the forums). I would like you all to do the same, especially for me, but I think Kelly feels the same. Push us hard! (Edited on 2012-02-28 10:31:15 by pink_cotton_candy)

I have to confess, I had to google Ayn Rand, because I had no idea who she was. I really need some more time to imagine Art Deco with armageddon and graffiti...GOOD LUCK GUYS! I'm here in the front raw watching everything like this (of course I chose the pink background girl!

I'm thinking propaganda style posters, but who knows what will come from this...this is the cage you know......Most importantly though, I am thinking the graduating class will have the most kick ass announcements ever!!! oh ya.......You going down girl!!!!!

Just FYI, we will be running down the clock each time so don't expect the speed at which Uni & Royce are playing have some pudding and popcorn while you wait...just no throwing!

suemack Affichés Fri Mar 2, 2012 12:29AM	Looking at your work, both of you, I don't think you belong in Rookie Row. If we all shuffle over a bit there'll be enough room so long as you don't mind sitting real close and getting popcorn in your hair. Bit of a rowdy crowd sometimes.
